ALL-IN-ONE TREATMENTS AND TECHNIQUES
ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE® (A.R.T.)
ART® is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles.
The intention of ART is to:
to restore free and unimpeded motion of all soft tissues
to release entrapped nerves, vasculature and lymphatics
to re-establish optimal texture, resilience and function of soft tissues
During Treatment, Dr. Sandy will use her hands (Iron Thumbs if you will) to get into the tissues.
Tissues are prone to negative changes from trauma, such as swelling, fibrosis and adhesions. During treatment, she will apply compressive, tensile and shear forces to address repetitive strain injuries, cumulative trauma injuries and constant pressure tension lesions (I.e possibly the source of all of your pain).
CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENTS
The first step to an active lifestyle is a properly functioning spine and nervous system. Joint dysfunctions can cause you to experience pain, discomfort, decreased mobility, or many other symptoms and conditions. At Well Co, we assess joint dysfunction on a muscular skeletal level.
Dr. Sandy can adjust you by hand (manual adjustment) or with an Activator (tool adjustment). We also utilize our drop table for light gentle hip and low back adjustments. A special feature of our table is Flexion Distraction which helps with disc health and low back pain.
Dr. Sandy may not always adjust you. If you have any concerns or fears about Chiropractic, let her know. She is always willing to accommodate every client to their comfort level.
STEMWAVE Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy is a non invasive treatment that uses acoustic waves to stimulate tissue repair. These sound waves are delivered directly into injured or irritated tissue to improve circulation, activate the body’s healing response, and reduce pain sensitivity.
Shockwave therapy has been used for decades in sports medicine and orthopedic care and is now widely used for chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
StemWave is a focused shockwave system designed to deliver consistent energy to targeted areas without injections or surgery.
When tissue becomes chronically irritated, especially tendons and fascia, the normal healing process slows down. Blood flow decreases, collagen quality declines, and pain receptors become more sensitive.
Shockwave therapy helps by:
Increasing local blood flow
Stimulating cellular repair
Encouraging collagen remodeling
Reducing chronic pain signaling
Rather than masking symptoms, shockwave therapy works to change how the tissue itself behaves.
ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is a 3,000 year old health practice that works to improve the body’s functions, and promotes the natural
self-healing process by stimulating specific anatomic sites.
Acupuncture needles stimulate the nervous system, releasing endorphins and relax musculature, to help relieve pain, affect mood, and overall health.
Benefits of Acupuncture
Balances the body as one whole to restore and maintain the balance.
Minimal to no side effects
Emphasis on prevention of disease.
Common conditions treated:
Low back pain, Neck pain, Headaches, tennis elbow, knee pain and more.
GRASTON - IASTM - GuaSha
Graston or IASTM (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization) is a therapeutic method for diagnosing and treating disorders of the skeletal muscles and related connective tissue.
We use stainless steel tools that have a “blade” or an edge, to palpate patients’ bodies in order to detect and resolve adhesions in the muscles and tendons.
CUPPING
Cupping therapy is an ancient form of treatment where Dr. Sandy uses cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction vacuum. Sometimes she will use the cups to “glide” along the skin to increase blood flow in that area.
This is to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
In traditional Chinese medicine, cups are used to bring out “stasis”. When the circles are dark and purple, there is a stasis of blood in that area. This could be due to lack of blood flow, meaning decrease in oxygen. The purpose is to get the blood flowing again, bringing more oxygen to an area to increase healing.
FAQ’s on Treatments
Well Co is a combination of treatments and techniques that Dr. Arthur has put together in her practice to best help patients feel better in their sport and every day life.
-
Of course, we do not pressure patients to do something they are either not ready for or its not appropriate for their care plan, i.e. such as fusions in the spine.
We also offer gentle forms of adjusting like Activator if you prefer.
-
New people to Well Co, meaning you have never been seen by Dr. Sandy, should book as a new patient.
Current patients can choose from 3 appointment types.
Focus Visit - 15 mins (1-2 problems)
Elevated Visit - 30 mins (2-3+ problems)
Total Body Visit - 45 mins. (3+ problems)

StemWave is our newest offering at Well Co. We are currently doing trials for $49 to see if you are a good candidate for this treatment style. If you proceed with care, this will be a separate treatment to your current care plan.
